About us

The team behind Lylac

Lylac is built in Melbourne by Cyberglass, a technology company run by its three founders. We build the platform that runs conferences and events, and we build it alongside the people who run them.

How we work.

Calm, present, never in the way. That is what an event platform should be on the day, and it is what we hold Lylac to.

Trusted at conference scale

Lylac runs the whole event, not just the sign-up page. The University of Melbourne MD Student Conference has run its program and attendee app on Lylac for the past two years. In 2026 that was four days and more than 1,400 student doctors and healthcare professionals.

Built with the people who run events

We work side by side with organisers, and what they need on the day decides what we build next. When something gets in their way, it gets fixed.

Engineering where it counts

Data, security and infrastructure are where we come from. They are the parts of an event platform organisers should never have to think about, so we sweat them for you.

Straight answers

Our features page marks what is still on its way, and our comparison page says where others do more. We would rather tell you now than let you find out at the door.

See how Lylac compares

Meet the founders.

Three engineers, each from a different corner of the craft, and each answerable for a part of Lylac.

Sean Gribben

Co-founder, Data and analytics

A published data scientist with six years in machine learning and analytics. Sean brings that to the data side of Lylac, from the attendee lists organisers bring with them to what the numbers say after the event.

Josh Nibbs

Co-founder, Security

A cyber security specialist who keeps clients ahead of evolving threats. Josh makes sure the attendee details organisers trust us with stay safe, from single sign-on to who can see what.

Pat Akaoui

Co-founder, Infrastructure

Seven years building infrastructure and backend systems. Pat looks after the platform underneath Lylac, built to stay up when a whole conference opens the app at once.

The company

Lylac is a trading name of CYBERGLASS Pty Ltd (ABN 76 682 310 023), an Australian company based in Melbourne. Cyberglass is a Microsoft Partner and also builds web applications and infrastructure for Australian organisations.
